Maple BBQ Sloppy Joes – the most delicious turkey sloppy joes! The sauce has just a hint of sweetness and they are extra delicious with cheddar cheese on top.

 1 tablespoon olive oil
 1 ½ pounds ground turkey
 1 small onion, diced
 2 cloves garlic, minced
 1 cup tomato sauce
 ¼ cup pure maple syrup
 2 tablespoons soy sauce
 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
 salt and pepper, to taste
 8 burger buns, toasted
 shredded cheddar cheese, for topping

Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add turkey and onion; cook, breaking up the turkey, until the meat is cooked through and the onion is translucent.

Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in tomato sauce, maple syrup, soy sauce, cider vinegar, and dijon mustard. Simmer on medium-low until the sauce has thickened slightly, just a few minutes.

Serve immediately on toasted buns and topped with cheddar cheese.
